Buzz the Super ("Buzz", "we", "us") provides AI-powered building superintendent services. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services via text, phone, web chat, or our dashboards.

Information We Collect

From Tenants:

Phone number and/or messaging account identifier
Messages, photos, videos, and voice recordings you send to Buzz
Your unit number and building association
Language preference (detected automatically)

From Building Owners:

Account information (name, email, phone)
Building details (address, units, knowledge base content)
Billing information

From Contractors:

Contact information (name, email, phone, company)
Job history and performance data

How We Use Your Information

Process and respond to maintenance requests
Diagnose issues using AI (including photo and video analysis)
Dispatch contractors and coordinate scheduling
Provide building owners with insights and reporting
Improve our AI models and service quality
Send notifications about request status, scheduling, and confirmations

AI Processing

We use artificial intelligence (including OpenAI's GPT-4o) to analyze text, photos, videos, and voice messages. This processing helps us diagnose maintenance issues, generate cost estimates, and provide self-fix guidance. AI-generated content is clearly attributed as coming from Buzz.

Data Sharing

We share information only as needed to provide our service:

With contractors: Job details, building address, and issue photos (not tenant personal info or exact unit numbers)
With building owners: Aggregated insights, request summaries, and spending data for their buildings
With service providers: We use Supabase (database), OpenAI (AI processing), Telnyx (phone/SMS), Resend (email), and Fly.io (hosting)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain maintenance request data and conversation history for the duration of the building's subscription plus 12 months. Photos and media are stored in secure cloud storage. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. Database access is restricted using row-level security policies.

Your Rights

You may:

Request access to your personal data
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of SMS communications by replying STOP

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes via their preferred communication channel.
